Deceived a NY Times Bestseller

Sharing is caring!

I’m pleased to announce that Deceived will debut at #13 on the April 10th NY Times Hardcover Fiction Bestseller List.  I want to thank all of you who purchased the book.  Word of mouth has really been fabulous and that means a lot to me.  So thank you!

And hey, if you haven’t picked it up yet, why not give it a go right…NOW.

And also, since I’ve gotten this question a lot from readers of my Star The Erevis Cale TrilogyWars work.  Yes, if you enjoyed Deceived and/or Crosscurrent, I think it likely that you will also enjoy my non-Star Wars work, which is similar in tone and style.  If that interests you, I recommend starting with either The Erevis Cale Trilogy Omnibus (or, if you don’t want to go whole hog with the Omnibus, the first book of the that trilogy, Twilight Falling) or Shadowbred (The Twilight War, Book 1), whichever is most easily available.

Again, my sincere thanks.  You all are great.

By the way Mr. Kemp, normally I don’t read Star Wars but your book has infected with a strong desire for lightsaber and blasters. Any books that you’d recommend for a new reader? The only books I’ve read is Salvatore’s Episode II (Well, because it’s Salvatore man…), Force Unleashed by Sean Williams (Which is….. What you’d expect from a video game book), Crosscurrent (WOOOOHOOOOO!) and Deceived. Riptide is so far far away……..

    • I’ve heard great things about Stover’s “Shatterpoint” and Zahn’s “Heir to the Empire” trilogy.

  3. I’ve never been a huge fan of the Stars Wars universe but I enjoy Kemp’s work. Do you have to be knowledgeable on the ends and outs of Star Wars to enjoy the book?

If I could jump right in and like I did the Erevis Cale trilogy then I think I might pick up a copy.

    • Mario,

You definitely do not need to know the ins and outs of SW to enjoy the book.

    • Like you Mario I wasn’t a huge Star Wars fan and frankly the only 2 books in the Star Wars universe that I have read are Crosscurrent and Deceived and I’ve got to tell you that if you’re a fan of Mr. Kemp’s work than you’ll love both books like I did. Fantastic read plain and simple.

  4. Thanks Paul and Dan for the answers. I will definitely check both out. Plus I need some good books to hold me over until Godborn comes out.
